World food commodity prices have  risen sharply in the latter part of 2010.  Much will depend on the 2011 harvest in key grain producing countries like Australia and Kazakhstan, not to mention the USA.  The UN's FAO has issued a stark warning of an impending food crisis that could be worse than 2007-08. President Sarkozy of France has warned of food riots as rising prices push many of the poor out of the market.
