Geoff Quartermaine Bastin
of FoodWorks is working with International Relief & Development (IRD) on a flood recovery and reconstruction plan in Pakistan.  IRD is a major US-based NGO specializing in emergency relief and reconstruction.  The Small Farmers Recovery Plan (SFRP) is a multi-million dollar effort to recover agriculture in the 12 worst-affected districts of lower Punjab and Upper Sindh (though coastal areas of Thatta are also included).  The recovery will focus on providing essential inputs and creating jobs through cash-for-work programs. Local partners include the Farmers Associates of Pakistan (FAP), the National Rural Support Program (NRSP) and the Mojaz Foundation.
